To meet increasing demand, a major project to bring gas from the Marcellus Shale to the Wilkes-Barre-Scranton market is in the pipeline.

The entertainment venue announced this week it is moving from its 119 Penn Ave. location because of "circumstances beyond our control." Its last event there will be Friday, June 1, when it displays the art collection "Locals" by Sam Barrese for the First Friday art walk and holds a "So Long to Penn Ave" party.

By the end of the year, the county is expected to be one of Northeastern Pennsylvania's biggest alternative energy producers.
