The head of a Texas company that plans to build a plant in Carbon County to turn coal into gasoline told state lawmakers Saturday that the project promises not only jobs and tax revenues but also would help the nation produce more energy domestically.

The company announced Thursday it would eliminate 1 of 2 proposed 230-kilovolt lines running between substations near Glenrock and Medicine Bow.

A Texas company that plans to build a plant to convert coal to gasoline in Carbon County is still negotiating with Idaho National Laboratory about reviewing the project, the head of the company said Monday.
