Nice journalism... no mention of whether the driver was arrested or not, and if not, why not. Keep up the stellar work TS.

"After making several turns in the parking lot"

It would have been nice to have a little more info in this article! Was she just transporting stuff from one spot to another? Or was she playing speed racer in the parking lot? Regardless of which it was it was wrong.....but was it an accident or reckless horseplay? Had the mother been drinking? Unfortunately for the child she's going to suffer the rest of her life for the bad choice her mother made in parenting.

My heart goes out to this child, and to her mother who is no doubt suffering tremendously for her bad judgement.

Sad she got hurt but, "who pays for the medical costs associated with this bumblin', bafoonish driving based upon poor self-responsibility and one's poor actions?" It should be 100% on the mom, except she could claim a pothole or other obstacle lay in the parking lot caused the injury and that the Fair Grounds is at fault!

True, but also they say that she was injured due to head injuries. Does that mean the head injury was responsible for some other injury? This isn't even journalism, this is some moron rewriting a press release.

Stupidity or not I feel compassion for the entire family especially the poor young girl. However they are members of our community and as such it affects us on a very local level. You know darn well that mother is being chewed up inside, at least one would hope so. The girl's sibling or friend has been traumatized and the teen who fell off, if lucky, will have to endure therapies that may or may not return her to a level of normalcy. It's not good anyway you look at it and by their unfortunate lack of common sense the result will be detrimental to our community. Note: It wasn't too long ago that it was perfectly legal to drive around with people AND youngsters in the back of a pick up truck. Obviously not everybody took the hint.

Yeah. And why don't they have those some of those CAMERAS you're always so enamored about covering the Redwood Acres parking lot, Jeffie? And why didn't they have one looking into that GPS guy's car at F & Harris when he got the ticket? And why didn't they have a camera watching the robbery attempt in the 1000 block on 4th St Saturday night? And why didn't they have a camera at 3100 K Street last Friday when the man got his foot run over by the mugger? And why wasn't there a camera watching the supposed "grow house" in Freshwater to catch the arsonist?
I think your camera crusade is much more interesting than going back to your old "who's going to pay for..." mantra.
But who's going to pay for all those cameras, Mr Unsupervisor?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Capricorn

You're swayed by your emotions today, making you susceptible to other people's machinations. Are you putty in the hands of your beloved? Are you willing to do whatever, just to keep the peace? Watch out for the influence of another's black mood, or you'll soon start to feel just as miserable. Fortunately this strange mood won't last long.
