Two male wood ducks seemed perfectly framed by the reflectioj of the fall trees in the pond at McHargue's Mill at Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park while several ducks swim and frolic in the water.

Laurel County residents can join people throughout Kentucky Sunday during the Second Sunday event sponsored by the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extensive Service.

Several dead fish that appear to be carp were found last week at McHargue's Mill in Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park by an employee running the mill.

It appears the troubles in the automotive industry are catching up to us here in eastern Kentucky as a major automotive plant in Laurel County is laying off two dozen workers.

Heavy rainfall Sunday evening and into Monday in Laurel County caused mobile homes to be flooded, roads to be closed and left two horses stranded knee-deep in water.
