Municipalities pass budgets for next fiscal year

Local municipalities have passed their budgets in time for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1. The town of Wadesboro approved its budget earlier this month, during a special meeting June 7. Ansonville Officials with the town of Ansonville couldn't be reached in time for press.

WPD officer under internal investigation

A Wadesboro Police Department officer is under internal investigation. WPD Chief Janie Schutz said an unidentified officer was under investigation for allegedly improperly disposing of a methamphetamine lab or meth precursors in McFarlan in September.
