Dawahare's, Goody's stores to remain open

plz keep goodys and do away with dawahares we need some kind of good clothes store but i for got its only going to get harder

These are the only stores closing in Kentucky for Goody's. Dawahare's is definitely closing in Campbellsville.

I like Goody's, too.

Kentucky — South Lexington, Paducah and Lexington

have you all tried Kali's Koture, across from terry and kathy's on main? they are the only clothing store in Mt.Sterling that sale Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Gucci, all of the brands that you would normall have to drive to lex to get. Check the store out. Oh! Thursdays are 10% off!

Dawahare's is closing. I don't know why people have to have a forum about it staying open.

Kali's Koture is a joke. They have a very generic selection, the prices are crap...I can get stuff on sale and drive to Lexington for less than what they are selling things for. The employees were not friendly....they didn't even speak to me and I was the only one in the store! And their purses are over-priced knock-offs...wait 'til Court Day if you want a knock-off!

Ahoy matey! Me thinks thou art confused. Tis be the Campbellsville, KY Topix forum it is. Not the Mt. Sterling, KY forum. That be quite a ways from here as the crow flies. Alas! Dawahare's did not have much selection

Yeah To bad they are leaving this town. They did have some good looking girls working for them.

If we can learn anything from these closings it is to shop locally whenever possible. These are hard times for everyone and if we want to keep the our local businesses, we should all support them instead of spending our money in other towns as often as we (or at least me) have in the past.

Hey there is always JCP!!! I think anyone who likes Goody's must not like good quality clothes. Anything I have ever bought from there has torn up within a few weeks. They can't keep employees there, most of them are rude and don't know what they are doing. Management isn't the greatest ever and they rearrange their store WAYYYY too much.

I don't know about that, all you all do on here is gripe.

I have an idea. Stop spending more than you have to at wal-mart. Walmart and Lowes is the key reason your gonna see alot of places pull out of smaller towns. The competition is just to great for other business's. Wal-mart is a one stop shop and they have always been able to brain wash that they are cheaper, but not always, alot of people don't even bother checking prices anywhere else before they buy at walmart. It's the old bait and switch technique. It works everytime.

Well you are right on one thing. Every time somebody goes into Wal-Mart they end up spending more money then what they intend to do.

I know what you mean I went in a few days after I heard it was closing and found a tank top for 19.99. I had bought it a week before for 14.99. Some sale??

is was in goodys yesterday and they were rearranging everthing again but had a good sale

They have good sales bc their clothing isn't of good quality.

Don't get me wrong - I know some of the girls who work there and they are great people - I'm just not too big on Goody's.

Sad that the small family owned stores are closing because spendthrift America can wait / dying to S=H-O-P Wal Mart 24/7!!!

Some folks here think Dawahares was not so hot -disagree. The stores we frequented had plenty of very nice mechandise at very good prices/

As for Wal Mart - there prices SHOULD BE a lot lower for the QUANTITIES of the stuff they buy up from their suppliers - but that USUALLY ISNT the case. Gotta pay for those nice 'lower prices' commercials.

Too bad the Dawahares is going out. It was the only place in Mount Sterling that sold upper scale name brand clothes like polo and nautica. Now you are forced to go to Lexington if you want decent clothes
