Rose was born July 12, 1934 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late Harry Duffey and Nancy McElfresh Duffey Travis.

He was born December 17, 1952 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Louise Marie Fortney Gray.
