Several reports to WIBW have confirmed the death of a very popular driver, Steven Bowers Sr, of Topeka during a race at the Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta on Saturday.

The United Rebel Sprint Series checked into Thunderhill Speedway for the first of two appearances in 2009 and race fans were treated to one of the best feature finishes in series history.
