I remember Laura as a young child. Her Mother and I were volunteers in EMS for many years.
I hope the individual who did this is is caught soon. This person will have the rest of their life in jail to remember what they did.
Rest in Peace Laura.

I used to see this girl all the time walking to the forge river nursery where she worked. She was a a very sweet helpful person.

This is a wake up call to all the area mastic residents clean up your neighborhoods. The police will not help you nore do they care to.

If you have child molesters in your neighborhood make it clear to them they are not welcome.

If you have a sober house in the neighborhood make it clear to them they are not welcome.

If you have drug dealers and thieves in the neighborhood make it clear they are not welcome.

If your neighbor's kid is robbing everyone on the block while they are at work during the day make it clear that their family is not welcome.

The community has to do what it has to do to take their neighborhood back like things were done back in the day when I was a kid.

What a loss, I hope the person who committed this crime is brought to vigilante justice.

"Hand of God" You've got to be kidding. How can a "person of god" say things like "they are not welcome." You are calling all people of a group horrible humanbeings. Is this what god would do? Or would he (if he exist) judge them as individuals?-something you are not doing. Granted we don't want actual bad people around, but don't slam the door on everyone. And, get your facts straight, not all men registered on the sex offenders list are "molesters," nor are all people in sober houses low-down-scum of the earth. May your god bless and forgive you.

Everyone on the sex offenders list and living in sober houses are low-down-scum and are not wanted in the community.

Most frequently, sex offenders are men who are emotionally unstable yet are able to deal with life on a day-to-day basis in a reasonably normal and competent manner. He is often an apparently normal individual, but one who has difficulty relating to others in a permanent or lasting fashion. According to reported cases of sexual assault, the assailant is often a friend, date, relative, co-worker, or casual acquaintance.

Women can and DO commit sexual crimes as well. Most often, these crimes fall into two categories: having sex with underage/teen males constituting the crime of statutory rape, and those crimes where they are administering punishment to a male child and that punishment includes the sex organs. Lest we underestimate the effect that this type of sexual abuse has on a child, bear in mind that some of the most prolific serial killers with long lists of sadistic sexual assaults have in common a background that includes severe sexual-oriented punishments, dished out by a mother, grandmother, foster mother, etc.

It is important to remember that exhibitionists (or "Peeping Toms") should be considered potential assailants since their acts may be part of a fantasy which includes sexual assault. All rapists have the potential to be violent. This is the most important consideration when determining how to react to sexual assault.
Some offenders seek to vent their hostility, aggression, frustrations and insecurities on their victims. For these offenders, the act of humiliating and degrading their victims while gaining power and control over them is a major motivating factor. Offenders of this type are often sexual sadists, finding pleasure in physically and/or sexually torturing their victims, whether or not sexual intercourse actually occurs or not. Attacks under this catagory are "passionate" and more often than not are directed at a victim known to the perpetrator - especially toward a victim who has denied the advances of the perpetrator or whom the perpetrator wishes to punish (note how violent and gruesome many domestic violence murders are; and the staggering number of which INCLUDE some sort of sexual violence).

Other offenders can be seemingly emotionless. They may view their victims as objects, rather than people. Their complete lack of empathy makes them unable to care or understand that their actions are damaging to a victim - or, they are so consumed by their own needs that they are un-naturally able to discount their actions from the victims point of view in order to get that which they seek.(If you were a smoker and cigarettes had feelings, at some point would you smoke one anyway?)

I pray that justice will prevail. You can never be too safe. It's a shame that you don't know who you can trust and what makes a person just snap like this. I'm sure no one would've expected this from the man who did this horrible crime if they knew him. I still can not believe this crime happened. It's unbelievable.

Let me start by saying that my heart goes out to the family of Laura. Everyone is basing their comments on what the media has brought forth, remember, he was accused, not convicted. And if you are listening to the media, they have no solid evidence to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that he did commit this horrible crime. Evidence doesn't lie, let's wait and see before passing judgement.

Of course not, it is evidence. I was simply stating that as per the media he gave an oral and written confession. The other post stated that "as per the media" there is no evidence.

It said, according to the media, "they have no solid evidence to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt..." A person can be coerced into a confession, therefore is not 100% solid. I think the other post is just saying, not to judge until all the evidence is presented. If you look up false confessions, it might help.

You know what...he was stalking her so he had motive and from what I am hearing MY DAUGHTER was NOT the first one he stalked! Saying you are "coerced" is a common Attorney tactic. My beautiful 25 year old daughter is dead! They did not meet in a bar, he came to her job. Why is it the criminals get more rights and more public symphathy than do the victims? Am I angry?ABSOLUTELY!! But I will not go commit a crime, I believe in GOD and I know justice will be served!

Has there been another arrest ? they must be satisfied with the beaten out confession ,along with other factors found there way to this person, which does not make him guilty, let the process run its coarse and the facts will tell the story ,If you want to correct social injustice join ACLU

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Aries

A certain person is being very feisty and fiery today. You may also suspect that they're looking for an argument and will provoke you until you rise to the bait. Trigger points include shared finances, sex and any topic that is currently supposed to be off-limits. You'll probably discover that you want to clear the air, but don't get carried away.
