CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Mason County commissioners filed a petition Monday to remove Sheriff David Anthony from office amidst charges that he misused county funds and fired a weapon over the head of his 13-year-old son.

It was reported that Triad Engineering asked the council to hold off on paving these respective streets until the water project has been completed.

The Fifth Annual Harvest Festival is nearing and the Town of Mason has a big event planned that will feature games, food and entertainment for all who attend this Saturday.

Education is important for students and adults. And during Tuesday's monthly luncheon of the Mason County Area Chamber of Commerce, Ron Huiatt of the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia gave a detailed presentation of what the Clay Center provides to the state and local community.

The Mason County Post of the West Virginia State Police reports the following arrest and traffic accident: Paula Petrice, 50, Point Pleasant, uttering times four, investigated by TFC AB Ward.

While most towns have their own chambers of commerce, the knowledge of the actual function of this organization may not be as common as the name.
