CA Executions May Resume After High Court Ruling
“The U.S. Supreme Court's ruling opens the door for us to proceed with the Morales case in California.”
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Wednesday's U.S. Supreme Court decision to allow lethal injections for death row inmates affirms California's capital punishment procedure and would allow executions to resume.
They have been on hold for two years because of legal challenges in federal and state court.
"I will continue to defend the death penalty and the will of the people, and I am confident that California's lethal injection protocol will be upheld," the governor said in a statement. Read more
