OUTDOORS: Remembering sharpshooters Parr and Leo
Parr Rhines was a hunting and shooting buddy, even though he was much older. I used to travel to South Dakota with him and Leo Arnold to hunt pheasants back in the 1960s.

2nd flood lawsuit lodged
A Marseilles couple filed a lawsuit Monday in La Salle County Circuit Court against three marine companies in connection with the April flood.

Lock repair to close part of Illinois River at lea...
Barge shipping returned to normal this week on most of the Illinois River after spring floods, but lock repairs will halt navigation on a northern stretch for at least a week beginning on Friday, the Army Corps of Engineers and Coast Guard said.
