Fiber optic project starts

The phase 1 construction program began near Marion Junction and will cover about 120 miles, initially connecting about 78 institutions in Dallas and Lowndes counties, according to the South Central Alabama Broadband Commission Comprehensive Community Infrastructure Broadband Project.
