Groups expect high turnout for dinners
The potatoes have been peeled and the turkeys are ready. Blue Water Area groups hosting free Thanksgiving dinners today are expecting bigger crowds than usual.

Brick repairs scheduled at Marine City Hall

MC chamber sponsors wine and culinary experience
Members of the Marine City Chamber of Commerce say their group exists to serve businesses in the area by providing support and resources to help them grow.
But, a couple times a year, the organization must focus on its own needs by sponsoring fundraisers like this year's Wine and Culinary Experience.

MC commission - some new faces, with Lepley retaining seat
An incumbent mayor and three new council members were elected by Marine City voters last week.
Mayor Bob Lepley retained his seat by a comfortable margin of 169 votes, after competing with candidate Craig McKenzie. Three new faces - Patrick Phelan, Jim Turner and Jesse White - will take their seats on the Marine City Commission after being sworn in Nov. 20.

MC chamber installs new officers
A new set of officers installed at the very-active Marine City Chamber of Commerce won't mean the community group will be slowing down any. Community leader Georgia Phelan, formerly the marketing committee chair, has taken over for Judy White and plans on keeping up the momentum.

Meet the candidates for MC election
Despite the slate of officials stepping aside, Marine City does not lack for candidates. Craig McKenzie is vying, along with incumbent Bob Lepley, for the mayoral seat.
Five candidates are running for the openings on the commission James McDonald, Patrick Phelan, Rosalie Skwiers, James Turner and Jesse White.
The Marine City Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Meet the Candidates forum last week to help voters decide who they will elect to guide their city Nov. 3.

Mariner Pride runs deep in Marine City and it takes over the entire town during football season.
Fans are a bit fanatical. They put up signs in their businesses and on their front yards. They show up at games in droves, wearing the orange and black team colors, driving miles and miles for away games to show their support.
