Bond set at $500,000 for Marengo murder suspects

You never know what goes on behind closed doors. I know the Frei family very well and the way Curt behaves to your face and the way he treated Denise when no one else was around were two completely different people. He was very controlling of Denise and for her son who is now only 19 has put up with this for the last 8 yrs of his life (if) he did do it defending his mom I don't blame him one bit. Just think about it what would you do and how would you feel if for the last 8 yrs your step dad has been beating your mother and you have had just enough. Don't tell me you wouldn't have done the same.

thanks friendoffamily for what you said. As a member of the frei family i want to thank you for what you said. Most of the freis have not seen Denise or Jacob for 8 yrs. We have been told when she was here for her moms birthday that curt was beating her and the kids. Her other son told us not long ago that curt told Denise that if she left him he would kill her grandchild and the rest of the frei's. We didnt know how bad it was when she told us. we wish she would have told us how bad he was getting so we could have done something sooner to get her out of there.

I just heard about Denise. I am in shock! If it wasn't in the newspaper and family members telling me, I would of refused to believe it. Denise is a kind, loving person that would do anything for you. I knew Curt was beating her and family members said so too. I should of checked on her
a year ago. It's been that long since I've heard from her. I'm so sad. I want to do something for her, console her. I love and miss her so much. I will pray for her and her family.
