The vacancy and resulting waste of money on another election is because the egomaniac Rossbach had to have his cake and eat it too.
Sad times for Maplewood.

Informed voter, he didn't resign because he was not sure that he would be elected mayor. What if he'd lost the mayoral election?

I'm hoping that the new council, which is planning on running effective government, will succeed.

I am also hoping that those running in the special election run positive campaigns, and require their supporters to do so as well.

It takes stones to do the right thing which in this case would be to resign from the council and run for mayor. IF Rossback had done that he would have saved the taxpayer money but Will could care less about the taxpayer, NO STONES.

GET OUT OF MAPLEWOOD NOW!

Just like RT Rybak, he ran for mayor FULLY KNOWING he would run for governor NEXT! In RT's case it also involves the question of can he function as mayor WHILE campaigning for governor??

We all know he cannot do the mayor position justice while running for governor.

Maybe there should be law that says you cannot run for another office while still holding an office. What a waste, now there will be another special election here and maybe another in MPLS if RT gets elected gov.

I'm surprised that Rossbach isn't just going to annoint (I mean appoint) someone.

That IS what happened in North Saint Paul. Furlong was appointed to finish out a term.

Of course the majority of NSP residents are really "Sheep" in human costumes.

Why should anyone run a campaign?
Just BUY it like Rossbach and company did.
Maplewood will really lose out now. Sky high taxes by a self appointed king.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Pisces

This is another good day to be tactful, and if anything you'll be even more successful than you were yesterday. This is not to be sneezed at, so seize the opportunity to talk to people who can sometimes be very touchy or who need to be handled with kid gloves. If you meet someone who's older or more influential than you, you'll be a big hit with them.
