I belong to the Y in Chesapeake and live down here in Currituck. I would love to have something closer.

spend the tax dollars of working people and then slap 'em with a tax increase. You are sucking the blood out of Corolla residents.

I hope the indoor pool is big enough for the high school swim team to practice in. They can only practice swimming in a real pool 2 days a week and they have to travel to Elizabeth City to do that.

I think it's wonderful!!! We need a convenient YMCA for our area. Everyone is tired of having to drive so far for a YMCA. The swim team at the high school needs a convenient place to practice and we need a close location for children to learn how to swim (especially because Currituck is surrounded by water). It can't come soon enough!

The facility is beautiful, however the indoor pool is small. There are only 2 goals in the gym with plenty of wall space for others. It's only a matter of time that a child will be injured. Young children constently running around un-supervised.(6-7-8)years of age. Hanging on to the upper floor track rail. 45lb weight on 45lb child spells ~NOT GOOD~

I hope the Y is sucessful but it not clear to me how it can be in such a remote location. Does anyone know how the membership is going?
Was this really built for the swim team?
Were any free memberships given?

They cannot lose because we as taxpayers will be force at gunpoint to pay. The fascist Socialist running this county will steal what we work fore . As far as the county government is concerned, we are their property to use as they see fit. Our efforts to provide for our families will be stolen and pass on to the insiders. Then with the next breath will use the excuse they need more money to take care of the law, fire or a school and other necessities. As far as the insiders are concerned, we should be honored to give up our property and families well being to enrich them and their business insiders.
