Carl H. Hoefing, 90, died at Good Samaritan Society in Manson on Wed. Apr. 24, 2013.

Brett D. Nissen, 36, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21 from 4 until 6:30 p.m. at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson, followed by a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. Private interment will be done at a later date at the convenience of the family.

While Iowa's agricultural roots run deep, it's not uncommon for an entire class at a local school to have no students who live on a working farm - even in rural Iowa.

The house belonged to John Lamfers and Tonya Klein, according to a representative from Equity Gateway LLC., which is listed as the deed holder with the Calhoun County Assessor.
