A squabble between two Mannington neighbors concerning an excessive amount of birds and a large pine tree could be a matter of discussion at the city's next council meeting.

Now that Mannington is officially buying water from Fairmont, officials associated with one of Mannington's two resale customers are wishing they could cut out the middle man.

The exact percentage of a proposed water-rate increase in the City of Mannington is still up in the air as West Virginia Public Service Commission staff members continue calculating how much money is needed to cushion the city's finances.

Although Mannington water customers are still awaiting word on a proposed total 70 percent water-rate increase, they will still be paying more for water following the recent approval of an interim rate hike.
