John Bogert: Manhattan Beach activist staging hand-holding warning on global warming

Full story: Daily Breeze

I met Joe Galliani back in 1994 during his Street Sharks phase. Joe, a high-school-educated son of a Brooklyn building super, and partner David Siegel came up with a perfectly lame idea.

It's just so damned embarrassing to have Manhattan Beach mentioned in the same breath as this "global warming" nonsense.
I don't have the material in front of me to cite, but there is so much scientific evidence that the earth goes through cycles of cooler and warmer temps, and that mans interference is but a minute factor in that natural evolution. The world is actually going through a cooling period at this time.
Even Al (the alchemist) Gore didn't have the answers to the questions the british judge asked (and then ruled on) about the inaccuracies of his ridiculous cartoon movie!
With the politics of the globe in such turmoil, and our very safety from virulent attack by merciless killers so frighteningly immediate, we need to stop wasting our breath and energy on this foolish movement.

Careful Phil, this kind of talk can get you into real trouble today. The global warming scam has passed into the realm of religious faith and the people who beleive this bs don't take kindly to "deniers". There even some calling for Neuenburg style trials for the warming heretics. Be very careful what you say in this free , open and oh so very tolerant society.

While tooling around the country in a private jet that puts out more carbon in one trip then an SUV does in a year. "Do as I say not as I do".

In the end, the message is to not live excessively (as most Americans do as compared to the rest of the world)and how your actions affect future generations.
Hey but who cares about the ENITRE PLANET and FUTURE GENERATIONS. We're AMERICANS! Yeah!(insert exploding bomb sounds here)

Using $$$ to smokescreen the real goal.$$$ isn't the issue here (unless it's your top priority over other things like say, um - FUTURE GENERATIONS).

Gore was wealthy before global warming - he authored a book on the subject in the late 1980's/early 90's. So is $$$ really the issue? I guess it can be - if it is your God and all you think about.

And who says you can't profit off legitimate causes like global warming. I'd trust him with profits than say Cheney (can you say Haliburton?)

Or maybe just jealous because you failed to think of it first. Oh that's right - its just too CONSCIENTIOUS of a goal....

That's why Bogert walks to work, but only from the parking lot.
So you're ultimately saying purely existing negates the message completely? That even trying to do something CONSCIENTIOUS of OTHERS, of the FUTURE, is a waste of time? Well, we'll just have to carry your load.

There should be no finger-pointing others with this issue. The only finger-pointing should be at yourself(selves).

But then again, it's all about ME....

Too bad my owner wrote this nonsense and chose not to publicize the Pier to Pier Walk on Oct. 25, between the MB and HB piers, a fundraiser for special needs children. Which might actually accomplish something useful. But hey, I'm just a beat up one speed bike with pedal brakes.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I am saying. You think all this BS is a good idea? Fine then you go do it and stop trying to force feed it to those of us who think otherwise!

I want to live just like Al Gore. Nice houses, SUV's and private jet travel. Making millions while preaching to the peons about cutting back on their life styles. Yes, I want to be like Al.

Yeah, I am not going to hold my breath on this one. One thing I have noticed about the global warming hysteria, all the bad things are going to happen way in future while the freedom and money we must give up is RIGHT NOW! It is easy to make predictions so far in the future no one is going to be around to call you are sooth saying.

How many boxes would it take?
That's $3,000 million my friend.
O.K. I am still missing your point. Don't expect me to defend Arnold. I don't like action movies and care less for all but a few politicians. I think Al Gore is a jerk, what does Arnold have to do with that?

He made millions before? You mean, when he invented the Internet? Or, was it when he was the inspiration for the Love Story? And you trust him because, what, he's gotten rich telling other people how to live their lives while not following his own advice? I know, I know, you're going to pull out you checkbook again and send Al more money, because after all, he really cares <sob>

Fact...if we all give up our cars all cars for 33 years we can effect the temperature by 1 degree...yes thats 33 years without cars for anyone and we can effect the climate by one degree.
For 10,000 years the climate has decreased then increased ..Al Gore and his followers are nuts..and Vic makes a great point when he says one flight on Al's jet burns more fuel then 10m of us driving SUV's for the next 10 years ..what a bunch of hypocrits.. I think Pelosi should be forced to walk from Washuington DC every weekend instead of flying on a private Air Force Gulf stream back and forth to her home in California to prove she really believes in Al ...
