The news about this company coming to Clay Co. is very exciting. I was in Manchester this summer on a mission trip when I heard about the possibility of this economic boon for Clay Co. and I hope to return next summer to see this reality. Congratulations, Clay County.

People!!! Surely you dont believe that anyone will spend the huge amount of money being talked about. First clue ought to be that noone would spend several million dollars to level a mountain when they could just move down the road about 25 miles and get free property that requires only minor excavation. Close to interstate and railroad. I say SCAM!

I'd say London knows more about this than we ever will and just didn't want to deal the waste product from the plant or something !
I agree with the " realist " Why would you spend the money for all that excavation when you didn't have to , plus being closer to the railroad and I-75 .

1) Check the time line? Was there a public announcement of this trash project prior to the wet county petition, which was put into circulation on October 1, 2009? Is this a dry county trick to try to convince the CC citizens that jobs are NOT needed?

2) Yes acquiring the "right" land is very important to any project. Why hilly mountanious land that requires massive excavation unless it was free, only a small portion needs excavation or someone is trying to hide something from the public eyes?

3) Why wasn't the public given notice and a right to discuss and respond to the plant?

4) Enviornmental, EPA, issues have yet to be addressed?

5) Compare the very public vine & wine project with the very secret trash project?

6) Jobs are hyped! It is impossible for such a plant as described to employ so many people.

7) House building was down 10% last month. That industry will not recover for a decade or more. Folks are not running out to reinsulate their houses. The recycling industry is on the ropes. 90% of all sit-aside trash from cities for recycling winds up in the land fill. Prices for waste have dropped by 90%.

8) If this is a real project then this is the worst timing in the history of business.

Is this all an election gimick? Something sure smells???

I hope this deal works out, but????? Why did they start excavating before the deed was made, before a title search, survey, money changing hands, and core drilling. Core drilling? Every job I have worked on, has always done core drilling before they build a building of this size. This tells them how solid the ground is, ex. fill dirt, tires covered up, former dump, etc. I am having a hard time understanding what is going on with this project. This area needs jobs so bad that I am afraid we are overlooking a lot of "may be". Would you buy a house because you liked the doorknob?

why was this project so hot and died overnight. If this was real would they be moving dirt day and night. The project seems never to be mentioned anymore except on topix. Someone needs to give some honest straight forward answers. By the way why was nothing ever bid on this project.
