The Kentucky State Police announced the 2012 Trooper of the Year, Detective of the Year, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer of the Year and other awards for acts of bravery, life-saving, professionalism and dedication to duty today at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Frankfort.

Laurel County Sheriff's Deputies say 30-year-old Allen Wombles of Manchester was driving, when a motorcycle pulled out in front of him, he hit a culvert the vehicle flipped and it ended up in a creek.
