First H1N1 Flu Case Confirmed in Eastern Sierra

Even as the World Health Organization declared a swine flu pandemic today, Inyo-Mono Public Health Officer Dr. Rick Johnson announced the first confirmed H1N1 flu case in the Eastern Sierra. Dr. Johnson said that the Mono County Health Department was notified by the California Department of Public Health that an individual who lives in Mono County tested positive for H1N1 or Swine flu. The individual was never hospitalized and is recovering at home.
