As the daughter of Ricky Wells (accused) and born into a small and unforgiving town; I would like to personally apologize for the death of Lucille Wells, My step-grandmother. To her family and also her boyfriend James Lindsey who had the misfortune of finding her dead in her home I send my heartfelt and deepest apologies. My immediate family, my mom, and brother are utterly grief struken and heartbroken for his actions. I would also like to add that my family and I cooperated with local law enforcement to the absolute best of our ability. I would also like to inform Lucille's family and friends in the community that in the two years Ricky Wells has been out on parole I have spent numerous hours talking with his parole office as well as her superiors and brownsville police reguarding his actions during his time at home. Ricky has recieved numerous D.U.I., domestic abuse, and theft charges since his release in December of 2006. He has also failed at least two drug evaluations during his monthly visits with his parole officer. My mother and I have lived in fear of our lives and the lives of others for the past two years. I hope this serves as a wake up call for "the system" that lets criminals return to the community only to reak havoc and chaos around them. I am so sad for what happened to Lucy as I thought the world of her. Lucy was a good person and a loving step-grandmother. She never had a bad thing to say of anyone and would have given you the shirt off her back. She is loved and missed. To the Edmonson County community: My deepest and most sincere apologies.

Tina thank you for your apology. You can not help what your father done. The only question we have is why did he do it. Lucille would not have hurt anyone for nothing. I just don't understand how one can take anothers life, what state of mind they would be in to do that. Please just pray for the family. The grandbabies really need prayer as they have lost there father and both grandmothers in less than a year.God bless all involved. I will pray for your family as well as ours. God can give great comfort.

Tina, the sins of your father are not yours. I hope you, your mother and brother can find some peace of mind. Ricky Wells wound up in prison for the attempted murder of my husband's oldest daughter 16 years ago. She was working Christmas night, her birthday, at the Minit Mart near Richardsville. Wells and a younger man came in and robbed the store. Before leaving, Wells stepped behind the counter and cut my step-daughter's throat. He left her to die. He tried to take the life of her mother's only child. Luckily, she did not die, and was able to testify against him in court. We were all so proud of her, because she fought back an intense fear in that courtroom. He was tried, found guilty and sentenced to nearly 40 years in prison. He should never have been released. You and your brother are not your father, Tina. You are responsible for your own thoughts and actions, but not his.

I would like to thank the other bloggers for their words of support to Tina. Tina is my niece and she and her brother are like my own children. I live in a little town called Venus in tx south of Dallas. My heart breaks for all involved and when I spoke with Tina and my sister Lisa, I can only wish I could be there for them now. Tina like I told you when we spoke, you are not responsible. You did everything you could to make sure the right thing was done and the system failed. You have the love of Christ in your heart and that is awesome for me to wittness. I love you and miss all of you very much. I am proud to be your uncle you are a very brave person.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Tina. I went to school with your Dad and cannot imagine what you have gone thru in your life. Never hold yourself accountable for what your Dad has done, and you are so right about our system being a mess. I just hate it for the fear you have lived with, and maybe you and yours can be at peace. I know it is hard sometimes, but just remember, God does not give us more than we can bear. I hate what Ricky has done and I hope the best for you and yours at all times. Just remember, none of this is your fault, it is his and he will be held accountable for his wrong doings. But as Christians, and I do not want to get anything started, and I will not post anything else, but the Lord's prayer says "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us" means only one thing. If we cannot forgive Ricky for what he has done, than our Father will not forgive us. Am not opening up a can of worms, just find peace Tina...I will be thinking of you...

Tina u r not ur father! No one blames u or ur family for his actions. Ricky was actually a peeping tom and stalked my stepmom for a while sense he had been out. She was scared to death, I know it is hard sometimes, but just remember, God does not give us more than we can bear.but u know he only has one person to answer too!.My thoughts and prayers are with u and ur family!!!

Would that be Alan Meredith? Do you have a Myspace because I'd like to talk to you. It's been a while!

Sorry about what happened. Sorry isn't really enough to make someone feel better about losing a loved one.

We should all forgive him right before the death penalty juice is expelled from the syringe into his body. Then it will be up to God to judge him.
