How would you know this unless you are in law enforcement?
In which case it would be illegal and unethical for you to say this.

<quoted text>That is irreverent in this case, he failed a drug test in violation of federal and state codes and then he and others covered it up after the fact.
Murder is illegal too and just because other people do it doesn't mean we excuse that behavior.
Its "irreverent" to you because you didnt like this man before the disclosure of his legal issues. If you were in the same place, or your brother, or your son- you would have a totally different opinion about this issue.
I am not saying his behavior should be excused, but I would prefer to hear from someone who is factual and not someone who is interested in it for personal reasons.

I am factual and not making my opinion for personal reasons.
I've already stated that I believe in legalizing pot. I am offended by the cover up more than anything.

He is a conspirator and there is no room in public service for conspiritors.

But Taxpayer, previous posts that you have on here, indicate that you didnt care for this man before this scandal? Would you say that this a honest assessment, or did I read you wrong?

You must have read me wrong, I do not know the man at all.
But even if I did, what he and his friends have done make him unqualified for public service.

How many posts do you need to make your point? Yes, yes, yes, we get it! You feel Shanty should be canned and whomever may have covered the whole ordeal up... enough already! I think the man is paying the price as we all type.. i'm pretty sure he has a conscience and i'm pretty sure it's battered right now!! We don't live in a perfect world so stop pretending that we do.. our tax dollars, our safety, really? Look around, pull the covers off, seriously! Here's some advice: don't vote for Shanty, don't vote at all if you don't want to... arrest him, arrest everybody cause that'll solve all of our problems, yah right ;0

Wow, so Shanty did nothing wrong but because some idiot HITS HIM, HE gets tested and now he can lose his job ? Even though there is nothing to say that he was impaired at the time of the accident? Sounds like a "snow job" to me.

He got tested because that is standard a DOT requirement. EVERYONE driving muni equipment is required to be tested whenever there is an accident no matter who is at fault.

He tested positive for drug use meaning he at SOMETIME in the past, smoked pot,
Understanding that he can be called at any hour to drive a plow if weather conditions dictate, he should always avoid using pot so as not to find himself called in when he IS under the influence.
That is not HM's rule, that is NYSDOT rules and no local conspiricy is in effect to deprive him of his job, he did that himself.

The big boss and the board were not required to take a drug test and that is not the issue anyway.
You are being evasive and attempting to deflect the responsibility from tom to the board and that is wrong.
As far as the board overlooking the drug test you have nothing at all, the town is presented with thousands of pay vouchers a year and if that one slipped by (and that is not nessasarily true) it shouldn't surprise anyone PLUS it's irrelevent nonetheless because HE FAILED A DRUG TEST contrary to the requirements of his job under NYSDOT rules and no matter what you say about the board, he should be held accountable.

Be honest with us and admit that you think he should keep his job because you see nothing wrong with pot use and driving plows.

Be honest with us and admit you would feel the same if he murdered and raped someone, as long as you could blame the supervisor and board and affirm your unatural resentment of those you percieve to be in power.

Admit that no matter what occurs in this town, you will swoop in and attribute it to those who you resent for being in power.

Admit that you have yet to own up to your own failures in life and still seek to place the blame for that on others.

I don't care about conspiracies or anything else. It doesn't take a genius to watch the weather and say "it might snow in the next day or two, so I won't smoke". But the guy smoked probably a week ago prior and now he gets canned because of something that is not his fault. Sorry, that doesn't sit right with me, DOT regulation or not.

wow, wake up people!!! of coarse the town board signed vouchers for drug rehab, that doesnt mean that they knew of a fail drugged test, any employee in the town garage can ask for counseling, wich would put a voucher in front of the town board to sign, so because they signed for this doesnt mean they knew there was a failed drug test!!! also the town policy for the highway dept is zero tolerance for either drugs or alcohol!!!no matter if u got a ticket for a wreck or not, the employees there get random testing, cmon people he failed the test bottom line!!! now the 2 weasels that were in on trying to cover this up are leaving mr.besio out to dry!!!! if mr. besio decides to sing like a bird i bet a pile of people would be like!!HOLY SHIT!!! THEY HID ALL THAT. i think mr.besio holds all the cards in this game!!

My own failures, what would that be, A DWI 20 years ago, getting sober, putting my kids throu collage, Owening 3 home, land and a log cabin back in the woods that would buy allmost any home in Malone. What failures are you talking about. Could I have done better in life, I say yes if I had it to do all over.
I take all my blame I did it, not you, not my xwife who is a great person for putting up with me for 10 years.
I do not beleave I told any lies in hear, I do not keep trying to turn this into someone else.
Now how many time have people been let off when tested pos is the ?
