A 65-year-old rural Sleepy Eye woman stopped for speeding on Highway 60 near Madison Lake last Thursday was arrested for methamphetamine possession by a Blue Earth County sheriff's deputy.

NORTH MANKATO, Minn. - As the western portion of Blue Earth County was busy draining that evening's rainfall, the eastern portion was still under attack.

By the end of the week, just about every lake will be iced out, in what has to be one of the earliest dates for clear lakes in our area.

Republican State Sen. Al DeKruif, who represents Northfield and was moved to a different district after redistricting last week , has announced he will not run in his new district, which is represented by an incumbent Republican.

Services for Barbara Gannott, 72, of Marshall, will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall.
