Woodstock man charged as part of child sex sting

A 41-year-old man from Woodstock has been arrested and charged with indecent solicitation of a child after attempting to meet up with a Western Springs police officer who posed online as a 16-year-old. Duane A. Derfus, 3210 Franklinville Road, was arrested Friday on the 8800 block of Ogden Avenue in Lyons as part of an ongoing investigation.
