lyons falls ALIVE. I personally think its dried up. I have lived here all my live. I read the article, what a joke. The survey must of been done with only certain people , I didnt get one. I dont see any change from the negative to positive only in the eyes of the wannabe ALIVE people and there are not many of them. look at the mill. Johnson from carthage buys it dirt cheap makes millions , doesnt come thru on the jobs. then he leaves the rest for us to handle, whats with that? next, look at all the welfare and undesirables we have here. The biggest change is the imports we now have here, they are both good and bad. mostly bad. Basin park, looks nice, but who cares. A project done by wannabes to make a name for themselves. next, lets do something with the canal, there might be some problems with land owners on that. money from funds to spend on fixing up things, well only certain parts of towns get this, what about the people like me whom have been here for ever. well thats for starters. there is only a few of the old guard left here LF.

Ok! I must be reading a completely different article than the one that you reference. I only see upbeat VOLUNTEERS, who are working toward a better community. Money is not going to come there just because the mill workers are now welfare recipients. To chastise a volunteer's agenda or efforts, is doing nothing to work towards a desired end. Get active, associate yourself with your community, and then become your own idea's philanthropist. Wow,(shoot to thrill) you just cannot be that negative, and expect results other than those in line with your approach.

So typical of the Lewis County "locals". They can't say anything that's not negative. They don't want change. They want to sit and stew in their poverty. Hats off to the volunteers in Lyons Falls. They helped market the old Millie's store, they have fixed up the parks, they brought in the farmers market. Great Jobs Guys! Don't let these loosers get you down. They'll go hang out at Hendels and they'll forget everything they said. LOL! Keep up the good work! shoot to thrill wrote: lyons falls ALIVE. I personally think its dried up. Regarding the survey...it was left all over town, the bank, post office, etc...I guess some people don't bank in Lyons Falls or mail their letters in Lyons Falls...They were not mailed to "certain people"...Lyons Falls Alive is trying very hard to clean up the town and lift the spirits of the area...this helps Lewis County as well...Lyons Falls Alive is aware of the problems in the town...They are not "wannabes" looking to make a name for themselves...They truly want some positive things to happen in the town as people have been down since the mill closedand other factors...By the way I've just come from the first Farmer's Market and it is packed...Obviously Lyons Falls is filling a need...Anyone could have done what they are doing...Someone stepped up to the plate and others were willing to lend a hand to begin to turn the negative feelings around...If you don't like it that's okay...Plenty of other people are happy with what Lyons Falls Alive has been doing.

shoot to thrill sounds like a bitter old person who hates anyone who has what he does not. have you seen the dvd they did on lyons falls history? I t was awesome, i would love to see the old canel and locks back like their original condition. this area has a lot of cool stuff you should be proud of, i wish they could restore the site where the town founder was buried near the riverbank too. river rafters would travel a long ways if you could do something with the falls too

Going to local hang outs, going on forums and bitching and moaning does not mean you contribute. Stop being mad others are trying to do for them and do for yourself. You and people like you with similar attitudes are good for nothing.

I can honestly say Kudos, great job!! and keep up the great work to all the volunteers who are busting their asses trying to save their town. What you all are doing is fantastic!!! Pay no attention to "Shoot to thrill", he/she obviously has nothing better to do with their time than sit at home and piss and moan about why his/her life sucks. I took the time to learn a little history about Lyons Falls, and I think that the people who truly care about this town have alot to be proud of.
