Lewis County man charged with assault

A Lewis County man is accused of conspiring with two others to assault a Lowville man.

Sheriff's investigators charged 19 year old Alex Widrick of Croghan with assault and conspiracy.

They say Widrick and two others assaulted 22 year old Jordan Hurley on the Rice Road in Lowville.

Widrick was arraigned and remanded to county jail with bail set at $2,500.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected, investigators said.

Looks like more to it than people are saying. Second arrest...more to come

.well you must have read the paper on wedensday Did you get a kick out of it?well i think that bail should have been set at a couple of hunderd thousand and then some .may be when people get in trouble and have to go in front of a judge that judge should set bail .so high they never get out

You know I like Jordan Hurley... I hope the best for those boys and I hope they learn their lessons, but this is just ridiculous. Yes those boys were very wrong... they should certainly be punished... what they did is beyone unacceptable. But for god's sake... why does he always get away with everything?? Hes going to end up causing a lot more trouble and he knows they dont do anything about it. The next time he gets in trouble for a stunt like this... watch and see where it gets him...

When will people learn..maybe being locked up for a while will teach them something but i dont think alex will ever stop his ways.

Jodan is a very good freind of mine. he would never do anything to antagonize anyone I'm glad I was'nt there because there would have been some serious ass kickin. I personally have known Jordan for several years.
I have found him to be a drunken drug addict trouble making loser. He is usually the one to start the trouble. Look at the kids family what else would you expect. Sometimes there is just to much for a kid to evercome. Years of neglect and bad influences have made him the way he is. my hope for him is to get away from here get himself cleaned up and become the man that he could be. Unfortunately I predict prison in this young mans future. Hope he proves me wrong

Well a select few of you obvoiusly don't know this Jordan Hurley kid that well. I have known him all through school and it is not surprising to see someone stomp another mudhole in his ass. All the kid knows how to do is run his mouth and run like a girl til your back is turned and then sucker punch ya. Well I personally wish alex was 21 cuz the first drink would be on me!

the way i look at it this makes up for all the times he beat on defenseless people. they should have beat him more than they did. if the cops don't do their job someone has to do it for them. maybe the pigs in this town will learn and put the Hurley boys in jail or a phys ward where they belong, to keep innocent people safe from their insanity. then it cost the taxpayer about $50 a day to keep him in jail watchin TV

Ok Alex is one of my good friends. I went to school with him. And I know Jordan as well. He's a scumbag and he's no good. He got what he deserved. Alex and the guys should have beat him better!
