A Lake County man accepted a plea deal in an effort to resolve his vehicular fratricide case and other criminal matters pending against him Tuesday.

The Clearlake Police Department will postpone the two fundraisers for its K-9 program - an all-you-can-eat pizza fest on Wednesday night in Lower Lake and a dinner-dance on June 22 on Clearlake.

Sharon Smith was driving a tan Chevy Suburban westbound on Highway 20, near the intersection of Highway 29, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Nick Powell.

Dylan Eugene Waters, accused of causing a double-fatal crash north of Lower Lake last summer, was scheduled to have his preliminary hearing next week, but Judge Andrew S. Blum found good cause to grant a defense request to postpone the matter Friday morning at the Lake County Courthouse.

It wasn't even her T-Bird that she was driving southbound on Highway 29, a few miles south of Lakeport, when she heard the noise.
