Lottery cheating was investigated by an outside company in California and New Yok, where people went to jail...when it was offered in Mass, the Mass lottery refused because they said cheating does not exist and they investigate by themselves. I guess they were wrong

send these rats to jail

Do they all still have thier lottery licences? Theft over $100.00 is a felony.

Funny how this story didn't list ALL the stores where customers were being ripped off.
Now if you think this is bad imagine how much the public would be ripped off if they bring in casinos. Wasn't the lottery supposed to offset school bugets? Oops! |

agents keep losers behind counter , then take your ticket and scan the losers to check them , you here "sorry not a winner" , after you leave , they scan your real ticket .... happens in Dracut too , and NH .

Thats why I do not play! I bought 5 quick picks in a new hampshire store before and when I went home I looked closer at my ticket and it was a loser from the last drawing. I called the police and the lottery and they did nothing about it!

This is the tip of the iceburg. I know a woman who stole from the Lottery. She was convicted but I have to tell you the Lottery was less than helpful in prosecuting the case. The sad or bad part is that some of her theft ring still work for the agent and even worse there are reports of theft still going on. Local guy has it pegged, the scam is to swap in a loser ticket. The only way to protect yourself is to sign the back of the scratch or Keno ticket. If the operator says "sorry not a winner" ask for your ticket back and check to see if your signature is still on the back. Unfortunately, you are on your own as the Lottery will not get involved. Only if they run their sting will they do anything. Oh by the way, if this is a 1st time offense 99% of the time the worst the felon will get is probation.

Ther first thing to do is to ask for the ticket back after it gets checked.
The next thing is to ask for a lotter calender,so you may check your ticket yourself.Thirdly, the lottery player should never hand over a lottery ticket and ask how much did I win? Many lottery agents prey on the player that has a hard time seeing or just does not understand how to play the game. Be careful it's your money, and a lottery ticket can be very valuable if you know how to play |

I had that happen to me at the Store 24 several years ago. The dude said the winnings were less than they were. When I asked for the ticket back he said he had torn it up and thrown it out. I demanded the ticket back several times, but the guy refused.
I wrote a letter to the lottery and Store 24 but got nowhere. That was the last time I bought a lottery ticket and the last time I'll step into a Store 24. |

Yes, that's the best thing to do, don't spend money at the store, hit 'em right in the pocket book! Not only that, tell all your friends about it and have them not go to that store anymore. Contact by mail or phone these stores headquarters and talk to someone at a high level in the company and complain and tell them you're never going back. Believe me, in these bad economic times, they'll listen. Tell them "bad word of mouth can kill your buisness" and they'll hear you. |

I am so glad that the owner of Macs finally got caught, I had a $100. winner one time and when I cashed it in he took $10. of the top, he said that was his tip. I never went back again, should of reported it but didn't. He is a thief.

The store I play at has a scanner for the customers to use. I always scan my tickets there before I throw them away. When it says I have a winner, I sign it, then go ask the agent for a print out of the winning numbers for that day - then compare the ticket to the winner myself. That way the agent knows I know how much it's worth.

They should lop the offender's arm off. I hate a thief.

The same thing happen to me at Store 24 a few years ago. But I had copies of all my tickets and told the store manager I would have a cop there in five minutes. They found the winning ticket. Once before that they miss counted by 10 out of 150 tickets I bought. Another time on a winner they said they did have enough money to pay off. Contacted the lottery and they told me to find another store that had enough cash. My feelings are the state is just as bad. Imagine saying you won $5 on a $5 ticket and all you really got was your $5 back, that should be $10. |

I agree about spreading the word...However, keep in mind one additional piece of valuable information: Store 24 is no longer in business as "Store 24". They are Tedeschi's now...but that doesn't mean that the crooks don't still work there. |
