Prosecutor: Man accused in rape boasted brother's police connections

I have had direct experience with this brother officer falsifying reports to cover up police misconduct to protect his coworkers. I also have knowledge that he knew where his brother was hiding for along time; prolonging the suffering of the victims to protect his family. This officer is a disgrace to the uniform, and defies any honesty and integrity in law enforcement. This behavior is apparently omnipresent throughout law enforcement circles, including dispatchers, and is a condoned practice. The victim's mother is right on target.

Awful story.... but what's with the mother. anyone who is a good mother would not have let this happen. Drinking with some guy, then letting him sleep over. Ingredients for disaster...

He was an in-law,a family member who was trusted, and violated this trust.

If you knew that he knew where his brother was, why didn't you tell anyone? You also helped prolong the suffering of the family by not acting on the information that you had. Also, what proof do you have that the officer falsified reports? Could you share it with us please? I'd really like to hear it. As for the mother, perhaps if she wasn't intoxicated all the time she might have a better handle on what's going on in her own home and be better able to protect her children.

I don't know if anyone knew at the time that it was taking place. I do know that the minute that the mother found out, she called the police. The real victim here is the girl. In her case or any other case, the victim doesn't deserve this treatment. If Mr. Mercado is found guilty, he'll pay for his actions. Focus on what's important, and remember that this will always stay in the victims mind.

Well, the DA's office have a letter with my name on it, and soon after my letter his brother was arrested! As for all the other ones that are calling me a liar, I have the report Mercado wrote.If any one wants to see it, leave your name and phone number.

nothing to do with this but........
can the police walk into your house and search for someone that commited a crime , does not live there, but was "seen" running through the back yard. these police just opened my door walked in and started searching. when asked "what they were doing the reply was shut up or you'll go to jail for harboring a fugitive!!.
no wonder cops are hated in my circle of freinds
