Town of Byron's new top cop has wide range of experience
As the new chief of police, John Wahl is the top cop for the Town of Byron, filling the "big shoes" of Chief Frankie Rohrer.He began work on May 8 and is replacing longtime and well-known Rohrer, hired as the town's lone law enforcement officer in July 1999.

Students clean up historic cemetery and install signage
A group of students from Bob Geiser's sixth, seventh and eighth grade history classes visited the historic Mexican Cemetery located on U.S. Highway 310 west of Lovell last week and made improvements while they were there.

Filing period for the August 21 primary election begins today and runs through June 1.There is one county office open this year, a four-year commission seat currently held by Chairman Jerry Ewen.

Highway patching project to begin in Northwest Wyoming
A $2.63 million highway patching project is scheduled to begin Thursday, May 17, in Northwest Wyoming, according to Todd Frost, Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer in Cody.

Area students to attend American Legion conference
Jacob Asay, Shay Kite, Kassidy Hetland and Holly Wilkerson of Lovell High School and Dalton Banks and Bryce Ward of Rocky Mountain High School, have been selected to participate in the American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State programs in June.
