A woman and child were injured in a crash at Highsplint on Thursday. According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Jared Boggs, Selena Burgan, 46, of Louellen, was traveling east on KY 38 in a Pontiac G6 when she attempted to pass an escort truck and backhoe.

A two-vehicle crash on KY 38 at Louellen injured two people on Friday. Kentucky State Police Trooper Jason Joseph said Joey Lewis, of Evarts, was airlifted to a trauma center after a helicopter landed at the Evarts football field.
