ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Who's brilliant idea was this? This is one reason we need to give the county supervisors a reasonable pay package. If you pay peanuts, you get monkey who make these kind of bone headed, ill conceived decisions. Our current supervisors appear to have no basic math skills, common sense, nor an informed idea of how they're public works department operates.

Sometimes, to keep a business afloat, you have to close a location. I bet that this yard will house less employees, thereby costing the county less money. I understand that some people might be out of work, but why should I pay your salary if I don't need to. I am a tax payer, so I matter right? The well being of the masses overpowers the well being of the few still....correct?

Absolutely "Local", however the county will realize NO savings from closing these yards. And "this yard" will house MORE employees, not less, as well as the added equipment from 3 maintenance yards and will cost the county MORE to maintain and operate. It will cost we citizens approximately $250,000 up front in an already tight fiscal year(perhaps more if the county decides to follow state and local laws), not the $100,000 mentioned by Mr. Antone. Not to mention the added fuel costs, travel time and wear and tear on equipment.
The beginning of wisdom is to call things by their proper name, this is a boondoggle, pure and simple.
