OMFG.

Isn't this the same mayor that claims we have a "record budget shortfall" ?

Why does the city need to be involved with this? All housing that rents or sells is "affordable" to someone. What makes housing more affordable is that it is smaller, built in a less desirable location, or built with less expensive features and materials. It will be even more affordable the less demand there is for it.

All other forms of "affordable" housing are really subsidized housing, and that costs me more money. Why should I be forced to pay more so someone else can pay less? If I choose to do that, fine. But get the government out of this.

The whole idea is to keep the lower incomes poor, so the rich can thrive.

If Santa Barbara is any indication, I bought "affordable housing", but was locked into a resale cap including agricultural zones of low Cost Of Living areas, while I live in a High Cost of Living area The project is poorly maintained (except for the homes of association members) and working owners have no time to rectify the situation, a County who historically changes the resale rules for different people, an association and landscape company that gouges and actually steals property... and they're Still Here!

My advise, stay far far away from anything regulating our free enterprise and success ratios!
