The quake, which was originally reported with a magnitude of 3.9 but was quickly upgraded, struck at 1 p.m. six miles south of Rancho Palos Verdes and seven miles southwest of San Pedro, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Small 3.2-magnitude earthquake felt in Los Angeles region
Much of west Los Angeles was jiggled Friday night by a small earthquake the U.S. Geological Survey said measured at a magnitude 3.2. The quake was centered on the coast near Marina del Rey and El Segundo but apparently was felt as far inland as La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena, the Los Angeles Times said Saturday.
