Breaking up fight between pit bulls sends woman to the hospital

A pair of pit bulls, considered to be loving family pets, suddenly attack someone. Sounds familier somehow.

Anyone knows you NEVER try to get in the middle of a dog fight and stop it with your bare hands.She should have turned the hose on them

I am a complete animal lover of all kinds. However, I think all pit bulls should be neutered so they eventually become extinct. While I am sure they have their loving moments, any animal with the capacity to kill should not be a house pet. I don't know if it's nature or nurture, but there is something inherently wrong with this breed. FYI, I managed to stop an attack on a small poodle by two pit bulls by driving my car towards them all and laying on the horn non-stop and yelling scat out the window. I think the noise bothered them. Just a thought in case you ever need it.

I'm not an owner of a pit bull, nor will I ever be. However, the only reason this story is news is that the two dogs were pit bulls. I'm sure dogs are getting into fights all over Long Beach, but the press only reports pit bull fights/bites. If they only reported Chihuahua fights/bites, then everyone would think that Chihuahua were dangerous dogs.

Sure blacks and mexicans buy pitbulls to serve as hillbilly burglar alarms, but plenty of white trash buy them too for the same reason.

While I am a avid dog lover, I have two dogs myself, both male, I have never had to break up a fight between the two of them. Part of this is breeding and part is training. It appears that these two dogs were "outside" dogs" with little or no training except to protect the property. Pit Bulls and be very sweet dogs but they need alot of training. I firmly believe that the laws should be changed so that most dogs must be nutered and only those with special permits should be allowed to breed animals. Breeding is all about getting the correct temperment, size,attitude and intelligence from a breed. The question also goes to were these dogs licensed? Were they properly cared for? Did they have regular check-ups by a vet? These are the questions that should be asked not what was the race of the person who owned the dogs.

It is quite possible that the two pit bulls belonged to different gangs. Shortly before the dogs viciously attacked each other, one of them was overheard to ask the other one : "Where you from?' The other one immediately threw down and started flashing paw signs, and the fight was on. When the fight got really bad, the first dog pulled out a 9mm pistol, but it jammed. A typical day in the LBC.

OMG I can't believe two pits attacked their owner. this breed should not be allowed anywhere in the USA.

Lt Quigey of Long Beach animal control is real handy with the needle these 2 dogs are going to get stuck with.

You made my day! As funny as that was, there is a message in what you wrote. Dogs only do what they are taught to do, 2 poodles would of did the same thing if they were raised like these dogs were raised.

The only difference is that the bites would of not been as bad and the story would not be newsworthy.

Irresponsible, ignorant pit bull owners is the real problem. It just so happens that ghetto-fabulous Long Beach is crawling with them. Ghetto comes in all colors, it just so happens..........

bullshit. if they attacked her, then clearly there would have had more bites on her body, not just her arms and hands. and if they were hers, then she should have known what they would have done if she interfered. its her fault. and why would she keep 2 dogs if they dont even like eachother?
pitbulls she only be kept to responsible people with much knowledge of the breed. thats why they have such a bad rep. the owners fucking suck! and i sick and tired of people judging and being so fucking into it. if it were any other breed, would it even make news? NO! it has to be the type of dogs thats already been tortured and shamed upon.
