House by house, street by street, one Illinois town is recovering from flood damage.

It's hard to believe that the normally lazy Spoon River could cause any damage, but the residents of London Mills don't need any convincing.

Even with sandbags set up, residents in London Mills say flooding from the Spoon River was just too much to handle.

A flood-swollen river in central Illinois has topped a levee and inundated parts of London Mills, prompting authorities to evacuate about half of the small town of about 500 people.

Despite reports of several generous Texans opening their doors to help out victims of Wednesday's deadly explosion at West Fertilizer Company, there have been a few people walking the opposite path.

A small town in northwestern Illinois was evacuated late Thursday as a spring storm brought flooding in the Midwest and snow in the Rockies.

A number of area roads have been CLOSED due to the flooding.
