Five years and 8 months is the maximum for attempted murder or assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer??? So how much time will he really do? and then be set free to roam the streets like an uncivilized maniac again.

The man was mentally ill and had asked for help before, so he gets distraught and the police sic a dog on him? Are we missing information? Remind me not to have a nervous breakdown in Redondo.

He's lucky all he got was a police dog.

Brandishing a weapon, making murderous threats, breaking into peoples homes will sometimes get you shot, and rightly so. Nervous breakdown or not.

oh please! let's say he was mentally ill, so the police are supposed to stand back and wait for him to kill a bunch of people before they do anything? "Distraught" is that your definition for what he put those people through?

It was on a DOG. Don't make it sound worse than it is.(Though he does deserve what he got as far a jail time).

Well ma'am you obviously dont know the time, money and training that is put forth with these dogs. Yes technically they are just dogs, but they are also public servants, in service to protect you from the bad men that lurk the streets.

Sandy - do a little research - a police canine officer also wears a badge. Valor is also an award winning dog. You show your ignorance by calling him a "DOG"

I had a dream...

The criminal and the K-9 went into a private room for 60 seconds with no witnesses...

Only the four legged K-9 walked out...

Sweet justice prevailed...

This is a "DOG" who will give his life in defense of his partner, as so many have before. I hope this incident will encourage out local police departments to get protective vests for their canine partners.

You will see more ignorant posts from that person.

Hope that creep gets his just in jail! One of my brother in laws lost one of his partners by the same type, also. It really hurts when losing our four legged hero's.
