This is amazing and repeated all over the country. The wood was treated with arsenic as a preservative. Everybody knew it at the time. It was sold all over. People have it in their backyard playscapes. Now it's verboten.
Similarly, fiberglass batting was always a cancer and lung risk. It has been used for decades. Now they put stickers on it and cover both sides to prevent health damage. Before it was asbestos, mercury and lead. Doctors used to advertise for healthy cigarettes at one time. As a species, we're really not too advanced. |
