My church's youth group is just ending a 6 week long successful "flocking" fundraiser, selling flocking and insurance services to members to support their various programs.
Mob like extortion done in a very fun loving way to support a good cause.

yes it is extortion vandalism, and teaches children how the first insurance companies started in the U.S. but seriously, if you don't do it someone else will. This also proves that it isn't just those scum bags downtown who use criminal methods to promote financial security. But you could be hunting with Dick Chenney.

Out of all the things that happened in WW2 they are honoring a group of minorities that didnt fight one battle?

Hello? It is only friends of the organization that get the birds. The actual goal is to get people talking.

As if it is all horribly embarrassing. I would want to keep the birds.

This is about as news worthy as the tiki statue.

This type of drivel is best left to facebooks and twitter.

What message is the Sentinel sending?

It is OK to extort money from your friends if you do it for worthy cause?

I was just about to post that! I think they're cute.

I've considered, many times, placing a flock of flamingos in full view of some truly disgusting neighbors...

I hope they come to my apartment complex.
We have a No Trespassing sign at the entrance and it is enforced. I would just love to see them arrested.

How much could a plaque possibly cost? Sounds like a big one. Too bad the "news article" didn't mention any of the details.

I never said it did. Just that this is not news. If you have a problem with that, perhaps it is you that should get over it.

So you think it is fun to extort people?

I guess if it for a good cause.

You know weatherboarding was for a good cause too.

If you ever want to see your plastic flamingos in one piece again leave $50,000 in small unmarked bills in the bus stop trash can in front of the Capitola Mall.

Daily Horoscope for November 15

Aries

You may feel a bit moody and intense as the Moon treks through Scorpio and your eighth house of sex, power and money today. With stern Saturn and obstructive Pluto clashing, you may not feel that life is turning out the way you planned, but who better than an Aries to turn lemons into lemonade? Don't let a momentary mood get you down.
