Brooklyn Park residents get educated on gang activity

Full story: The Maryland Gazette

Is your child suddenly speaking in an odd, slang-heavy language? Is he or she becoming more secretive, turning up with unexplained amounts of money and wearing one particular color all the time? It could be more than a case of typical teenage rebellion.

People must fight back and make the police aware. If people say nothing in a community then the police cannot know what is going on. There is a huge problem in the brooklyn park, brooklyn, curtis bay area with gangs. I live in curtis bay and a 2 block radius around where I live is very quiet and safe because me and my neighbors do not tolerate any gang, drug, prostitution activity and we confront them, call the police or do whatever it takes for those problem people to know that we are not messing around. If everyone banded together, then we would see this gang problem anymore. People do not care about their communities and let it happen. They turn a blind eye and say that telling on someone is "snitching". If that is the case then I am a snitch and proud of it. My family will be safe. If the police doesn't do it then I'm going to do. And I have done it and I will continue.

I happen to live on a block with more criminals than decent citizens because I cannot afford to live anywhere else. I see crime happen all of the time, have called before but nothing changes. There was a week about 2 months ago that we had patrol, but after the cops raided a few places they stopped patrolling. Can I tell you the SAME people are selling the SAME drugs out of the SAME houses!! Our stats on crime in this area are WAY off! I havent seen any mention of the 3 people that I know that got shot this past weekend....

Force the police to do something, or do it yourself. I know if someone threatens me or my family, the police will not be called, unless they are cleaning up the aftermath. There is a huge class discrimination problem where the lower and middle class get fewer police resources while the upper class get all of the resources. Law or no law, if the police cannot protect me, I will protect my family regardless of the law. Since laws are not enforced, who will protect the communities? F the gangs. I'll fight the war for my community. I do not care if anyone else does or not. I am not spineless.

Rally up, get involved and fight back!
This in the long run will make EVERYONES lives safer.

Your community needs more people like you! BRAVO!
Being aware and making your presence known will deter a lot of crime.

You have one thing in your way though, people in DENIAL.
Ive been there, if its not happening on their front door step they dont care. Most dont get involved because their scared or dont think crime next door is any of their business.

Make them care educate them on their surroundings tell them what goes on when their NOT home. Communication goes a long way.

I say why wait until its knocking on your door.
Its all in what we ALLOW.
Letting punk kids rule our lifes sounds silly. Arent we as adults suppose to be smarter than kids?
Its time these kids learned whos in charge, we are the ones paying the taxes to run OUR communities.
Without us, there would be NO community!

Things will only change if we the tax payers take control back.

The more crime there is, means more police will be needed. More police means us tax payers AGAIN are paying for the actions of these thugs. How much does safety cost? How many lives will it be worth?

People moved to this area for a better life. Payed big money not to have the stress of City crime. With Schools that dont need security or the police patrolling them. Whats the cost of allowing THUGS to control the area? It cost them NOTHING! We pay for it!

Parents need to be held accountable for their punks actions.
No more excuses No more stupidity No more denial.
No more allowing them to ruin other peoples lifes.

If its your kid DO something about it!!!!
Have some dignity, respect for others, what your kids do is a reflection of who you are. No matter the age if they live in YOUR home its your problem!
If your kid acts like an animal TIE them up and keep them off OUR streets!
Stop blaming society! Why wait until your kid is dead or in prison.
This is a very educated Country with help if you seek it out.
NO MORE EXCUSES!

Its sad that we have to ENFORCE curfews. Curfews to me are like taking away a part of our freedom that this Country stands for.
When enforced by the police and the tax paying citizens, it works.
How about 3 warning then the parents have to spend a night in jail or do Community service with them.

As you all can tell I'm sick of the gangsta attitude from any age group. I have no tolerance left for whats gone wrong with the youth of today. I blame the parents 100%.
Send these unaware parents a note where their thug is and what their up to, maybe we can help them out.

I dont want to live behind a fence with security, thats taking away the FREEDOM I earned.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Capricorn

You'll have difficulty finding equilibrium in your emotional life at the moment; try to control the impulsive side of your character. At work, your usual powers of intuition will be clouded. Fits of feverishness may bother you and break down your energy. If you can get out into the countryside for a walk, you'll feel much better.
