Katonah Yarn is closing its doors, most likely within the next month. The shop is filled with skeins of yarn, woolen items and knitting supplies.

Plant sales, lobster dinners, musicals and pet adoptions are some of the events planned for the weekend around Somers.

Peter M. Muir, 24, of Lincolndale was arraigned at Somers Town Court after New York State Police said he was found in possession of approximately 1A1 2 ounces of heroin, a hypodermic needle and some Xanax.

Cinco de Mayo celebrations, a puppy mill protest and a famous plant sale are some of the events planned for Somers this weekend.

Rides start at 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Somers Lions Club Carnival.
