Wayne Co. commissioners fear rising jail tether costs

Wayne County Commissioner Ilona Varga is accusing the sheriff's department of unfairly favoring one of four vendors providing tethers to the Wayne County Jail in a funding shuffle that could cost taxpayers more than $320,000. Last year, commissioners approved a three-year contract for nearly $5 million for tethers and services.
