Criminals could care less where you are when they get you. Just like they could less about the "laws" that control law-abiding citizens. They don't generally go thru the process before buying THEIR guns.

Just as an FYI, look around your home, you are not defenseless-floor and table lamps, dvd players, etc. can be used to help give you time to get away from someone. Outside your home, STAY ALERT. Look at the people around you, let them know you see them. Don't walk with your head down, or with headphones on. That makes you an easy target. Our world has changed, and we have to keep up.

That was funny, I don't care who you are! And I keep a gun handy, let them eat lead!

What are all you guns nut scared of? I never feel a need to carry a gun. Where are you hanging out that you need a gun? Sounds like a white trash free for all. None of you have anything anyone wants so what are you scared of. That wallet on a chain is empty and your truck is a piece of crap. Relax hillbillys, you can shoot squirrels in your own yard. You don't need to go to the park.

I have been around firearms of all calibers and types my whole life. I have a PPP but don't feel the need to pack heat unless I am traveling long distances alone. I don't routinely carry my side arm out of my house. And all my weapons have locks on them. I neither white trash, nor have an crappy truck. My truck is new as is my SUV. And since I live in the country, firearms here are a way of life. So Jimmy, take your stereo typical nonsense elsewhere.

"Jimmy" we aren't afraid of people like you. You are making a lot of wild assumptions, and you know what they say about assuming, don't you, Jimmy? I grew up in a military family, guns (and gun safety) have ALWAYS been a part of our family. I myself don't hunt, but know how. I don't "hang out" where a gun would be necessary, but I will protect my home and my children, if need be. Without a bit of remorse. And I really don't care what you think of that, because that's the way it is. And if anything ever happens that YOU need a "gun nut" I hope someone smarter than you is there to help you out.

I have carried anywhere anytime for the last 20 years and have just recently applied for my permit.I sure don't hang out in bad places,I own my home outright and my piece shoot a.75" group at 25 ft. part of that is gun, part is the shooter. I will protect myself,my family, my fellow American and my country if need be. Better to be armed and never need it than to be unarmed the one time you do need it.

How about the honor student in Chicago who got beat to death in front of a large group of people and no one helped. They used a large stick. Chicago outlaws handguns. It's not the weapon, it's the people.

hubby and I both have our permits - we practice regularly. we consider our guns a "tool to survive" if necessary. never will use the tool to hurt or abuse anyone - but WILL use it to avoid being hurt or abused by someone else.

doubtful, pilgrim. I am trained in gun safety, close quarters firing and am probably a better judge of real trouble than any of these cops around. I don't get afraid and will only draw if I think my life or someone else's is in immediate and imminent danger. As for someone taking my weapon... well, I can disable it in 1 second so if they do happen to get it, they cant fire it until they reassemble it. By that time I will have drawn my hideout and neutralized the threat.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Nowhere in this clause does it state where you are or are not allowed to carry a weapon.
It helps me sleep at night knowing a sexual predator may be shot before abducting a child.
An unfortunate circumstance in Manhattan....the central park jogger....coined the term "wilding".
I moved from NY to Tennessee....bought a new home on a farm outright....have a nice savings account.....my husband drives an old pick up truck because it's his choice....and decided to spend some of my equity in the state of Tennessee where the U.S Constitution is still guarded with merit. Thank you Tennessee....I feel more like an American....not so much a hillbilly.

Why haven't any of you "I have a permit and I want to carry anywhere!" characters addressed the incident in Franklin where a driver waved his 'permitted' handgun at another driver to force his way into a line of traffic.

I am to feel "protected" by a whach job like that? God help us if he had been in a restaurant drunk or in a park and the ump made a call he didn't like.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Gemini

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
