No child should have to go through that no matter what they do. She was 9, yes children are trying at times but the key word children. Please do not let this mother have the chance to do this again to her children there are alot of families who will raise these children in a loving home. Hitting children only teaches them to be aggressive. MAMACULO why would you even post that comment....

...and then we wonder why kids today are so troubled and end up in jail. Parents your child is a gift from God so appreciate them and love them.

I have never agreed with the belt or any other object...I do, however, agree with an open hand across the bottom, but ONLY as a last resort and ONLY once, not one after the other.

Apparently this "mother" does not know how to handle/deal with her child and needs counseling and parenting courses IF she is to have custody of her kids again.

This woman should have her kids removed for ever and not allowed to have another child...but I'm sure she can't stay away from the horizontal position...very sad!!

That's very big of you, hitting a defenseless child. And the lesson being learned by the child is wonderful, violence is a good last resort. Let me guess, you feel just awful after hitting your kid, but it really hurt you more than it hurt them? You're an inspiration to all.

Hitting kids is great!!!

Oh my goodness, you must be one of those people that calls DSS on a mother that spanks her kids bottom when they are throwing a fit in a store...."spanking" and nothing more has been done for years, but there are limits and when a parent knows those limits and uses it effectively and only when absolutely necessary it works.

In this freaking state I see a "tearful reunion" in the future as a smiling DSS worker looks on and a social worker pats herself on the back ......followed shortly thereafter by more of the same.

Nope, never called DSS. But I disagree with hitting a child. You have no problem with that and you're ok teaching your child that it's ok to hit in some circumstances. An adult should not be hitting a child. Tough concept for some to grasp, but it's the truth.

Where is the father or fathers of the three kids. I feel terrible for all these children but once again a welfare collecting minority hispanic woman with no fathers to be found.

Not that I am in anyway excusing her, or agreeing with her actions, however, I was hit with a belt a million times as a child and would not do that to my children ever.

A open-hand spank on the bottom is sometimes a great way to get a message to your kids. Everyone who says that is what is wrong with the kids these days should step back and look at the past. 40 years ago kids got spankings and they were a million times better behaved than the ones we have now. And they were not scarred for life, we all grew up and got on with our lives. I think the problem with a lot of kids these days is that they could use a swat on the rear to straighten them out.

Unless you're the kid...then it is.

I don't spank my kids not because I think it's morally wrong or doesn't work if applied 'correctly', but because I don't ever want my kid feeling about me the way I felt about my folks when I was spanked. Even though it probably 'worked' for me

You know, I was spanked as a kid and don't fault my parents for it one bit, I knew that when it happened I deserved it for misbehaving and not listening. I suppose other people have different recollections, but mine aren't bad at all.

I knew that they were "spanking" and not hitting, I knew the difference even at a young age.
