I just don't understand how someone can take anothers life with no regret. I think the boyfriend was the deceased lady's son. Just can't understand how or why.

I use to be on crack, so I know what kind of hold it can have on a person. The truth is that this is a tragic situation for everyone involved.

I can't understand it either. What a messed up creature this must be to do that to his own mother, and the girlfriend helping him, knowing he killed his own mother. A good match, those two.

You don't understand the power that addiction has over people. I actually went to school with that girl and know her. She is a nice person who has made some big mistakes. You are no better than she is, so get off your big high and mighty Christian horse.

I think watching your boyfriend choke his mother to death. Then help put her in trash bags, and carry the body in another room. Cash her checks and steal her property is more than a mistake. It does not have anything to do with being high and mighty.

Given the right circumstances, that could have been most anybody. What would Jesus do for a crack addicted person? The answer is: love them. Why don't you follow his example just this one time, or else stifle yourself from being so judgmental.

You were passing judgment on her while she is not her to defend herself. I am simply speaking on her behalf. There is a difference...

GV,

Work with me on this one. Are you saying what this girl did was not that bad or even alright because she was an addict?

If a person who would help her boyfriend murder his elderly and quite loving mother, stuff the body in a plastic bag, and attempt to hide it is what you you consider nice; i would hate to see what you consider not nice. And by the way, addiction is a made up disease to use as an excuse for the real problem people have. Selfishness.......

She went along with a murder and she is doing her time for her crime. I never said that it was alright...

Oh, ok... thanks for straightening me out on that. I'm sure you have done extensive research to come to that conclusion.

GV,
This is the post I was referring to. It sounds very much like you are minimizing her actions. I would have to define murder as somewhat north of a "big mistake". It is a brutal, animalistic, insidious act devoid of any human compassion or mercy.

Well, I know her, and I know crack... She is definitely the better of the two. I don't believe that had she been in her right mind she would have gone along with a murder. The only point I am trying to make is that it could happen to almost anyone. That's my opinion.

Exactly! This just shows how some don't really respond to WHAT is said, but rather WHO said it. It makes you wonder how a person, addicted to drugs,(his own choice) kills his own mother with his bare hands with girlfriend watching, then stuffs her into a plastic bag, and continues to degrade and dishonor her by stealing from her, isn't "MESSED UP."

Who wouldn't think that was messed up? I certainly don’t condone murder!

All I am saying is that this woman is not a murderer in my opinion. I knew her in high school and I know her heart. She is a good person. I don't agree with what she did, but I know she has a lot of good in her because I have seen it.

There may have been good in her at one time. However our society judges one on their actions. Brutally murdering someone eclipses anything she has ever done in her life. Regardless of if she is feeling remorseful or not, the lady she brutally murdered has no chance at living another day.

Nice try. I'm not getting sucked into the argument of whether or not SHE is guilty of brutally murdering that woman. The murder was brutal... I'll concede to that.

It's not a Christian horse, GV. A Christian horse has compassion on the addicted. A Christian horse helps them. Yeah, a Christian view of it knows justice must be served, but also sees the human need and pain in the circumstances of ALL involved. A Christian has mercy, and like you said, doesn't think we are better than someone else just because we didn't commit THAT particular sin.

Look at Rescue Missions. They are Christ based and gladly take in addicts and help them get their life back. If you're going to judge Christian views on addiction, look to the Christians who practice what they preach, not the ones who only CLAIM to be Christian but then do the opposite of what Jesus Christ actually did here on earth.

I feel for everybody involved in that situation, and there are a LOT more than we're reading about in the paper. Addiction imprisons the person doing the drugs AND those who love him or her.
