Lenoir City Teacher Resigns After Affair With Student Discovered

A Lenoir City High School teacher has resigned because of a relationship with an 18-year-old student.

School Superintendent Wayne Miller said teacher Rachel Burkhart acknowledged the inappropriate relationship and resigned Thursday. Burkhart is 25 years old.

Lenoir City Police Chief Don White said the department is not investigating because the student was an adult during the time the allegations cover.

Turns out LC police decided not to prosecute the teacher after the honorable Judge Vann of Lenoir City rendered his legal opinion on the subject.

Vann, a noted legal scholar famous for his unique interpretations of Tennessee law, cited the little known "Smokin Hot ACT" of 1999, TCA 36-24-36 which grants immunity from prosecution to female teachers who have sex with male students as long as the teacher is a hottie.

DON'T BE STUPID. THE LAW CLEARLY STATES THAT IF YOU ARE 18 YOU CAN HAVE CONSENT SEX.DOES NOT MATTER IF SHE WAS 100

They need to check into Mrs Finchem (Harris) having an affair with her student, who got her pregnant, and now is married to her. He was only 15 years old when this happened.

The school knew about this, but swept it under the rug. If she can do it, Why not another ?
