LENNON, Mich. -- -- Anyone who restores old tractors knows that transforming a rusty, neglected piece of farm equipment into a bright and shiny showpiece is its own reward.

One of the village's bars are gone, the other has changed names and owners. New residents have moved in and taken prominent roles in the community, while others have moved away.

On Feb. 27, 1997, 88-year-old Mary Prieur's body was found in a swampy, wooded area 150 yards away from her Lennon home.
